Prototype Camp: About

**PLEASE NOTE: The deadline to apply for the MITx U.Lab Prototype Camp was June 1st, 2015. We are no longer accepting applications at this time.

The MITx U.Lab Prototype Camp is designed to connect regional partners from the emerging U.Lab community, advance the most promising prototypes that have emerged from the U.Lab, and to envision and explore the journey ahead.

From October 29th – November 1st, 2015, we will host a microcosm of U.Lab participants from around the world on the MIT campus in Cambridge, MA. We are looking to bring together a diverse group who pioneer a new type of entrepreneurial capacity, blending the spirit of mens et manus (mind and hand) with the intelligence of the heart.

During the three-day intensive, participants will collaborate with MIT faculty and Presencing Insititute coaches, form and strengthen connections to each other, and learn how to co-evolve their initiatives “from seed to scale” through hands-on workshops and deep self-reflection practices.

Admission to the MITx U.Lab Prototype Camp is highly selective, and based on six criteria. We are looking for:

  1. Entrepreneurs and problem owners. At the core of any great prototype is someone who has committed his or her full self to its success. We call these people entrepreneurs or problem owners, and if you are one, we encourage you to apply.

  2. Hub Hosts and Co-conveners. People that hold the space for individuals and communities to progress on their ego-to-eco journey.

  3. Ability to influence change. Leaders capable of making a decisive contribution to change in their home context. That context may be local, institutional, or systemic.

  4. Ego-to-Eco. Prototypes that address one or more of the three divides and/or eight acupuncture points

  5. Potential to evolve. People with a passion for taking their work to next level of impact

  6. Self-reflection and compassion. People who are open to learning more about themselves and others

Admissions will be made on a rolling basis - with some priority given to those who apply on or before May 15th. Admissions and partial scholarships will be awarded based on merit and need. Do not let cost prevent you from applying!
