Occupy Boston
Yesterday, on taking the T (local subway) to meet a client downtown, stumbled upon Occupy Boston outside the Federal Reserve building. I was hesitant to approach the encampment, not sure where or how to enter. Once inside, with a tourist's curiosity, I witnessed the daily meeting to coordinate efforts between the safety tent, food, clean up, communications, donations, and more. It seemed like a swirl of fluid - the particles unclear, but the motion undoubtable.
Last night, Mayor Bloomberg in NYC issued police to raid and clear the crowd from Zuccotti Park. I'm not sure what this means. If the movement does not sustain a physical presence though the coming months, is it now rooted enough in broader consciousness to continue its growth, expand impact?
I wonder what it looks like to continue to see and act from the OUTSIDE the tents to be OF the tents, and, further, how to serve as a connector of tents, parks, plazas... a new progressive society...
